 David Guiraud was born in 1984 on the French Riviera, where he still lives. After a
bachelor in Cinema at La Sorbonne in Paris, he was in 2005 an assistant director
on the French feature « Le Serpent » which scored almost 800.000 entries
at the French Box Office. Only 23 years old, he is one of the two founders of
the production company AD ASTRA FILMS, created in Cannes in early 2008 to
produce his first short : The Danaides’
barrel. This dream-like film, where aesthetics and body language are
meaningful, is directly influenced by renown directors such as Werner Herzog,
Kim Ki-duk or Michael Mann. Selected in more than 20 countries by 35
international film festivals, the success of The Danaides ‘barrel.
